Tower Rebuild

Restoring an Iconic Landmark

Hobe Mountain Observation Tower

The Hobe Mountain Observation Tower at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, South Florida's highest point at 86 feet, is currently closed for a significant restoration project. This iconic structure, known for its breathtaking views of the park, the Intracoastal Waterway, and the Atlantic Ocean, is due for a complete overhaul to meet modern safety standards and to enhance the overall visitor experience.

Initial estimates suggest that simply repairing or rebuilding the tower as it stands would cost between $150,000 and $200,000. However, to truly elevate the experience and ensure accessibility for all visitors, including features like an accessibility ramp, the costs could rise significantly. We see this as a unique opportunity, with enough community support, to create something even better—a state-of-the-art observation tower that surpasses the original in both function and form.
