All sequences will be instructed with variations for all levels.
About the Instructor
Kate’s yoga journey began in 2016. She started attending Yoga classes regularly for both the mental and physical benefits it provides. After about a year of attending classes Kate flew to the Yoga capital of the world Rishikesh, India. She spent just over a month practicing the 8 limbs of the Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Each day was spent studying the asanas, pranayama and the rest of the sutras. She graduated with her 200-hour certified Yoga instructor certification in the beginning of January 2018. Since then, Kate has continued her education with certifications including chair yoga and the wounded warrior program – a nonprofit that offers free yoga to veterans and their families. She has been teaching yoga for 2 years with emphasis in vinyasa and classical Hatha.
Bald Cypress Tree Planting
Within every location, contains a story. The tale of our Bald Cypress trees go way back to the times before our park was established. Most of the bald cypress in southern Florida were harvested by the lumber industry by the
1940s leaving only isolated strands of cypress that were too difficult for loggers to reach. This devastated the bald cypress habitat…
Years later more bald cypress trees were destroyed by salt water intrusion, leaving the habitat almost demolished.
But there IS hope!
The goal of Jonathan Dickinson State Park staff and also with the help from Friends of JDSP is to help rebuild this habitat located on our property. The goal is to plant 63 acres of bald cypress. This absolutely cannot be done without the help of our community. Through generous donations, and wonderful volunteers, we hope to meet this goal sooner rather than later. And now, we need YOU!
