Get Involved

Be a Part of Something Greater

At The Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, involvement goes beyond mere participation—it’s about making a real impact. When you join us, whether through membership, volunteering, or donations, you become a vital part of our mission to protect and enhance the natural and cultural beauty of one of Florida’s most treasured landscapes. Each contribution, no matter the size or form, helps us sustain the park’s biodiversity, preserve its history, and ensure that future generations can also enjoy its wonders.

Your involvement brings life to our initiatives and strength to our cause. By becoming a member, you gain a closer connection to the park’s projects and community events. As a volunteer, you lend your hands and heart, directly influencing our conservation efforts and educational programs. And through your donations, you provide essential funding that drives forward all aspects of our work. Together, we can foster a legacy of stewardship and community spirit, ensuring that the park remains a vibrant sanctuary for both wildlife and people. Join us today and experience the profound satisfaction of nurturing the environment and enriching your community.

There are so many opportunities to get involved with the Friends. Volunteer for special events, art exhibits, park programs, research, visitor services and resource management.

We currently need volunteers that can:

  • Represent the Friends in the local community.
  • Serve on Friends board and its subcommittees; for example Events Committee, Communications Committee, Grant Writing Committee.
  • Help at Friends events like our Cypress Tree plantings, Fire Fest, community outreach programs, and more!
  • Help The Friends to fundraise and support our organization.

If you have an area of expertise you'd like to share with the community, please click here to fill out a Florida State Parks Individual Volunteer Application - this form is required to volunteer at the Park. After your application is complete, please contact us so we can review the application and assign to you an appropriate committee.

We welcome you to The Friends and thank you for your interest!
