OUR MISSION STATEMENT

We are a volunteer-based, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose role is to advocate for the historical, educational and ecological enhancement of Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Our mission is to assist park management in meeting the natural and cultural resource management objectives established for the park.

The Friends of Jonathan State Park, Inc. is a Citizen Support Organization (CSO).  Our primary role is to serve as a source of financial support for the Park's visitor programs and physical needs that are not funded by the state. Jonathan Dickinson State Park encompasses one of the most significant and diverse natural ecosystems remaining in South Florida. Visitors can take advantage of a variety of recreational opportunities including camping, biking, picnicking, fishing, hiking, canoeing and kayaking, bird watching and much more, which is where the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park comes in. Activities and programs are supported directly by your tax-deductible memberships and donations to The Friends.

Join us as a member of the “Friends” and enjoy the benefit of 12 free visits as part of your membership. We have social events through the year and special member events. There are also many opportunities for volunteering.
