This hour long class incorporates elements of both Ashtanga and Vinyasa practices, made for all skill levels. We will explore the connection between the body and breath under the pavilion overlooking Jonathan Dickinson State Park! Each class will be modified to fit those in attendance, and welcomes all levels. Whether you are a newcomer to yoga or an advanced student, this class is for you.

Vivian Carlo is a Hobe Sound resident, and is currently raising her family here. She is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelors degree in Health Administration. She has always loved yoga, and after realizing the benefits both on and off the mat, she decided to go for her teaching certificate at Native Yoga in Juno Beach, earning her 200 hr. certificate.

Please bring your own yoga mat, water, and mask. Mats will be spaced 6 feet apart.

Welcome to the 1st Annual Earth Day 5K presented by The Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park and Southern Timing.

We love the earth, it’s beautiful, amazing … and it needs our help. The phrase Earth Day originated in 1969. It means “a day’s observance of the need to protect the Earth’s environment”, and in today's busy world, it's more important than ever!

Our race will take you back along the Kitching Creek Trail in the west end of the park, winding through beautiful scenery and along the tree-lined canopy of the famous Loxahatchee River.

We wanted a day for our Friends and community to join us in celebrating our amazing planet and our beloved park while getting outdoors (socially distanced of course) and exercising in the fresh cool air of spring.

Proceeds benefit the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc.; a 501c(3) providing direct support to help enhance the ecological, historical, and cultural resources of our beautiful park.

    Trail Conditions:

The trail is natural surface; mostly dry grass, with some sugar sand mixed in. As this trail is in a low-lying area of the park there can be puddles and slightly uneven terrain.

    COVID-19 Safety Protocol:

All participants are asked to wear face coverings while not running and in the general pavilion/race area. Hand sanitizer stations will be set up around the event. We ask everyone to please socially distance as much as possible to keep our event healthy and safe for all.

All Staff and volunteers are required to wear face coverings for the duration of the event.

    Refund Policy:

Due to this being a fundraiser, there will be no rain dates or reschedules of the event. If tickets are purchased and the event is cancelled due to inclement weather, no refunds will be given.

Giving Tuesday is held annually around the 1st of December. This Year it falls on November 30th!  Giving Tuesday is a day to give back to all worldwide non-profit 501c3 organizations that help make our world a better place to live in.

Last year, our amazing team was able to raise $1,400! That money was put to good use providing funding to numerous park improvement projects and community support.

On November 30th 2021, all donations made to our origination will be doubled! This is a fantastic opportunity to be able to support your favorite park, make an environmental impact, and make your money count! Please help us reach our goal of $2000 and beyond for this Giving Tuesday!
